Mango Lassi

This is a refreshing drink I almost never get when I eat Indian. It’s good, though.


Serves 4-6.


  1 cup plain yogurt
1 cup milk
1 cup water
1 cup mango pulp
½ cup sugar
1 oz pistachios, ground


1. Chill all ingredients thoroughly before preparation and you won’t have to chill them after.

2. In a pitcher, combine the yogurt, milk, water, pulp, and sugar. Whisk briskly until completely mixed.

3. To serve, pour over crushed ice (optional: my local restaurants do not do this). Sprinkle the ground pistachios over the top (they don’t do this either).
