Easy Naan

Interwoven ingredients and steps for quick execution.


Large recipe                   Smaller recipe (by ⅓)

1½ cups milk                   ½ cup milk
1 tbsp sugar                   1 tsp sugar
2 tsp yeast                    1 tsp yeast

Mix well.

4 cups all purpose flour       1½ cups flour
1½ tsp salt                    ½ tsp salt

Mix until incorporated.

3 tbsp oil                     1 tbsp oil

Knead until smooth, about 7 minutes.
Shape into ball and put into oiled bowl. Cover for 40-50 minutes.

Garnish

2 tbsp minced garlic
4 tbsp chopped parsley
⅓ cup salted butter

Punch down risen dough. Divide into 10 portions. Roll each into ball. Cover and rest 10 minutes or more.

Roll a ball out to 7" - 8" and very thin. Heat tawa (a non stick pan works too).

Brush with oil. Place naan for 60-90 seconds each side. Second side will become finished top. Cover to keep warm. Re-warm in tawa if desired, then brush on garnish.

Gluten/dairy-free?

It should be possible to replace flour with Caputo's, milk with oat milk and use plant butter for the garnish.
